The Red Lion is situated in the village of Llanafan Fawr which is approximately 6 miles from Builth Wells and 12 miles from Rhayader on the B4358. From Newbridge-on-wye follow signs towards Beulah follow the B4358 for 3½ miles until you reach Llanafan Fawr where there are signs for The Red Lion. From Builth Wells take the A483 towards Llandovery, At Cilmery turn right and follow signs to Llanafan and Llanafan Fawr, for approximately 4 miles this road will bring you out opposite the pub.
